April's book is For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When The Rainbow Is Enuf. Written in 1974 by Ntozake Shange, and adapted into a Tony Award-winning stage play in 1976, the book is described as a choreo-poem that covers the experiences of seven African American women who experience both racism and sexism. This book is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and through the East Baton Rouge Library system.
