Winter Storm Uri Support For Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas

Updated: Feb 21, 2021

We hope that everyone impacted by this unprecedented winter storm in our home state of Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and other communities has been staying warm and safe.

With millions of people still in the dark or the cold, a majority of these impacted residents are in Texas. This has resulted in a widespread humanitarian crisis as vulnerable populations, many of whom may have been already struggling prior to the winter weather event, are struggling to find warmth, food and power.

Click the links below to learn how you can support those in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Organizations represented include regional Red Cross foundations, organizations that serve communities of color, environmental organizations, food banks and homeless shelters. Whether it is to help get food on people's tables or pay for hotel rooms so those still without power can have a warm bed to sleep in, there is much that can be done.

Please note that this will continue to be updated in the days and weeks to come. Contact us at info@the821project.com if there are other organizations and efforts not on this list that you'd like to see represented.
