About the event
In a world plagued with injustice and conflict, violence is an issue that transcends borders, generations, and race. However, it isn’t limited to weapons. The threat of physical and structural violence is one that we all must confront, whether it be domestic violence, gun violence, poverty or social exclusion. So how can we create peace, justice and build community here in the capital city?
The goal of The 821 Project’s Voices community summit, “Peace Justice and Community,” is to build a multicultural community while raising awareness of various forms of violence. September’s summit will feature an interactive dialogue session on the role that physical and structural violence plays on our local and global communities, in addition to hands-on activities that will educate while empowering leadership and tangible solutions.
