Workshop: Global Citizenship For African American Children

Join us for an encore presentation of our "Global Citizenship For African American Children" workshop!

This workshop was first presented at the 47th Annual National Black Child Development Institute Conference in Atlanta, Georgia this month.

Global citizenship refers to a connection to not only one’s city, state, or country, but to the world at large. As our communities become increasingly globalized, African American children and young adults must have access to opportunities for global citizenship education. Our workshop will provide discussion on what global citizenship means, the importance of global citizenship education, and ways that African American children and young adults can be exposed to social consciousness, cross-cultural exchange and international relationship building, all of which are aspects of global citizenship.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, but not required, for participation. Pre-register via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/global-citizenship-for-african-american-children-tickets-38669306938.
